Matangi  is one of the Mahavidyas in ten Tantric goddesses. Matangi governs speech, music, knowledge and the arts. Her worship is prescribed to acquire supernatural powers, especially gaining control over enemies, attracting people to one, acquiring mastery over the arts and gaining supreme knowledge. Matangi is represented as emerald green in colour. While Uchchhishta-Matangini carries a noose, sword, goad, and club, her other well-known form, Raja-Matangi, plays the Veena and is often pictured with a parrot. In Sahasranamam, Devi is mentioned as the Manthrini of Lalitha Parabhattarika. The goddess is worshiped in the name of Tantric worship as Matangi, Raja Shyamala, Tantrik Saraswati, Manthrini, Lakhu Shyama, Shyamala. Goddess is of wisdom and Vaagsiddhi. Shyamala Devi is the Goddess who taught Kalidasa. Devi is the source of wisdom that brings the human consciousness to the highest level of knowledge that is why science has introduced the goddess's ministry as a decorating force. The Goddess is the goddess of the musical arts. Matanga Bhairav is the male power of the Goddess. It is the Goddess who sitting in the first place in the spiritual path of man, the Goddess is the Shakthi that enters man's consciousness from the smell level into the secondary.
