Dasamahavidya_03 Shodashi

Shodashi is the third Vidya in the Dasha Mahavidya. Shodashi is the another manifestation of Sri Lalitha Mahatripurasundari. Lalita Devi is one of the Brahmavidyas of the decade. Goddess Lalita has many names. Tripura Sundari, Shodashi, Kameshwari and Tripura. The Goddess is also known as Nitya because she is the heroine of Nitya Devi (goddesses like Bhaghamalini and Nitya Klinna). Srividya Mantra, the main mantra of Goddess Lalita, has 15 letters. When Shrividya Mantra joint with one alphabet becomes Shodashi Vidya. The goddess is known as Shodashi because of this technique. Devi's husband is Lord Shiva. Kameswara Kameswari lives in the glorious world of Sripuram, which was created by Vishwakarma and Mayan. He is seated in the Panchabhramasana wearing cladding, sapphire, sugar cane bow and flower bowl. The Pancha Brahmasanam is a divine mantra with the four feet of Lord Brahma, Rudran, Vishnu and Ishwara and the reclining pali. Goddess Laxmi and Goddess Saraswati flutter on both sides of the deity.
